Job details:

Inspection and assessment:
- Thoroughly inspect incoming used conveyor systems and components to identify wear, damage, and potential issues.
Refurbishment and repair:
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, including replacing worn belts, bearings, motors, and drives.
Preventive maintenance:
- Execute scheduled maintenance on all equipment to ensure its long-term reliability.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems on a variety of systems, often under pressure to meet resale deadlines.
Testing:
- Test all repaired and refurbished equipment to ensure it operates safely and meets performance standards.
Documentation:
- Accurately complete work orders and maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain a safe work environment.
Inventory management:
- Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of spare parts and tools needed for maintenance.
Modification:
- Assist with upgrades, modifications, and installations as needed for specific systems being prepared for resale.
Experience:
- Proven experience in mechanical repair, with a preference for experience with conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
Technical skills:
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including motors, gear reducers, belts, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics and diagrams is essential.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
Problem-solving:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues efficiently.
Attention to detail:
- Meticulous approach to inspections, repairs, and documentation.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and pulling.
Other:
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and a strong commitment to safety.
